Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions to high school students studying IB or AP Economics.
Create customized lesson plans and learning materials that align with the IB or AP Economics syllabus and cater to the unique needs of each student.
Teach key economic principles, theories, and models, such as supply and demand, market structures, fiscal policy, international trade, and macroeconomics.
Clarify complex concepts and ensure students have a solid foundation in fundamental economic theories.
Assist students in developing critical thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to apply economic principles to real-world scenarios.
Help students improve their problem-solving and data interpretation skills through practice exercises and interactive discussions.
Provide guidance on essay writing techniques, including thesis development, effective argumentation, and evidence-based analysis.
Monitor and assess students' progress, providing timely feedback and recommendations for improvement.
Stay updated on the latest developments in IB or AP Economics curriculum and assessment requirements.
Communicate regularly with students and parents to discuss progress, address concerns, and provide updates on tutoring sessions.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field. Candidates with relevant tutoring experience will also be considered.
In-depth knowledge of the IB or AP Economics curriculum and assessment criteria.
Strong command of economic theories, principles, and their practical applications.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Previous tutoring or teaching experience, particularly in IB or AP Economics, is preferred.
Familiarity with IB or AP study materials, resources, and exam-style questions.
Flexibility in scheduling tutoring sessions to accommodate students' availability.
Proficiency in using digital platforms and online teaching tools.
Passion for education and a commitment to helping students achieve academic success.
